Our Achievements
Achievements
We have been in the field of trekking and hiking since 1993. We have experienced many things in our journey, and one of the most important things we learned is that each mountain is unique and every mountain has its own set of challenges. We have been involved with Trekking and Hiking as a volunteer as well as an expert guide. We started out by organizing trekking tours to Rupin Pass for the first time in the world. Since then, we have trained our clients on how to prepare for disasters, which is something we believe is vital for everyone to learn if they want to be prepared for any emergency situation.
We are still training newcomers at Touch Himalayas who wish to become experts in their respective fields, such as trekking and hiking.
Our Team
Founder
Ms. Sangeeta Rawat
Founder
Whereas in Uttarakhand, educated, unemployed young youth, leaving their homes and villages in search of employment, migrated to the cities and did not return, leaving villages empty. Home, village ruins, the identity of the mountain, and traditional culture are on the verge of extinction. In view of this, Ms. Sangeeta Rawat, a resident of Sankari village, located in the Mori development block of the Uttarkashi district, has started adventure tourism, ecotourism, rural tourism, and homestays in Uttarakhand to prevent migration. To explore the limitless possibilities of religious and cultural tourism, first of all, institutions and social organizations like Nehru Mountaineering Institute Uttarkashi, Adventure Tourism Department Uttarkashi, Indian Forest Research Institute Dehradun, Rural Development Department Uttarkashi, etc., after getting self-employment test training, take local educated unemployed youth with you. A non-social organization, the Green Himalayan Social Welfare Society and M.S. formed the Touch Himalayas firm, through which they connect the educated unemployed youths with tourism self-employment in Uttarakhand by studying/marking the little-known places—routes from the rural areas and schemes like tourism self-employment run by the Uttarakhand government, Veerchandra Singh Garhwali, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Rural Tourism. Along with home stay chief minister village industry employment schemes such as handicrafts, fisheries, mushroom production, cattle milk production, dairy, poultry, herbal production, self-employment, etc., the main objective is to promote rural sanitation
